Going to a real rage room? What you wear matters more than you would think, because you will be around flying bits of glass and pottery. Here is a simple guide to dressing for a smash room, and what the venue usually gives you.
What the venue usually provides
Most rage rooms hand you the protective kit, but it is always worth asking when you book. Typical gear:
- Overalls or a coverall that goes over your clothes.
- A helmet with a face shield, so nothing reaches your eyes or face.
- Thick gloves to protect your hands.
What to wear underneath
- Closed, sturdy shoes. Trainers or boots with a thick sole. No sandals, flip flops or heels.
- Long trousers. Leggings or jeans protect your legs far better than shorts.
- A long-sleeved top or something you can move in. Comfortable and stretchy wins.
- Hair tied back. And take off dangly jewellery, scarves and anything that could catch.
What to leave at home
- Anything precious or that you would hate to get dirty.
- Loose sleeves and anything that could snag on a tool.
- Your own items to smash. Only break what the venue gives you.
