Your scores, trophies, settings, last room and weapon, and anything you type in “What's bugging you?” are saved in your browser's own storage. That text only leaves your device if you share a result card, where it's drawn on the picture. Clear your browser data for this site and it's all gone.

If you pick a nickname after a Time Attack or Free Smash run, we keep:

• your nickname, which everyone can see on the board
• your best Time Attack score and fastest Free Smash clear, and the room you set them in
• a player id made from a random key your browser creates. The key stays on your device; the id can't be turned back into it.

To check a run is real, your browser sends that run's hits to our server. They're checked and then thrown away. A short-lived match ticket lives for 15 minutes.

Weekly boards are deleted about three weeks after their week ends. Your nickname and all-time best stay until you ask us to remove them.

To stop people flooding the board, your IP address is used as part of a counter for about a minute, then forgotten.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they open. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you around other sites. It notes the page, the site or app you came from (like a link shared on WhatsApp), your country, and your type of browser and device. It can't tell who you are, and it stops recognising a visitor after a day.

The site is hosted by Vercel, and the world board lives in a database run by Upstash. Like any web host, Vercel keeps standard request logs (such as IP address, browser and the page asked for) for a short time, under its own privacy policy. Their servers may be outside the UK and EU.

• Clear this site's data in your browser to remove everything on your device.
